Hi there. It’s day eight after my surgery and the day that I got the cast off. So, my nose is a lot less swollen than it was this morning which is good. And my tip is actually…my tip is usually not this wide but maybe like that wide. So it’s not…the tip doesn’t look that abnormal, but this whole bridge of my nose, the swelling goes out to here a little bit and it’s not like super bad swelling but my nose has always been a wide nose but this is wider than usual. So although I can like go out in public and look normal to some people probably, I notice all the little swellings and stuff like that. But I can breathe; both nostrils are clear.
They said that once my nose really starts healing again though, I should get… I’ll get stuffed up again which is kind of disappointing but… and they said the swelling should go way down by next week which is when I start school which is good. And then it will continue to go down after like two to three weeks so…
The nice thing about this is although my nose is swollen and has a bandage on it and it doesn’t necessarily look…this isn’t a correct representation of what my nose will look like when it’s done healing… but while I had the cast on, I still couldn’t breathe as well. I had a cast on that was kind of uncomfortable. I had stitches in my nose, stitches in my rib, staples in my head.
So there were lots of things that were kind of uncomfortable. Like when I yawn, the staples in my head would hurt a little bit. If I sneeze, the stitches in my rib would hurt. But once they took all that out, now I feel normal and I can breathe and walk and talk and eat and taste foods and do everything normally. I just have a swollen nose. So, it will heal quickly hopefully so I’ll…yeah.
