Joseph: Hi there, it’s day 18 of my rhinoplasty and septoplasty recovery and I feel great. I can see my nose starting to take shape here. It’s very swollen, not very swollen, it has actually gone down a lot from here to here and a little bit on the sides here. And you can see that, when I turn to the side, you can see how it sticks out and it’s short because the tip is still swollen and up and everything and then this. But it has definitely gotten better over the past few days and I was freaking out, well not freaking out, but a little concerned that this in here was not swelling but was the actual stuff that they put in there. But we called Dr. Nassif and he said that no, that’s swelling and then from here into the tip will be the longest to go down and it has already gone down a lot up here.
I’ve been using the arnica cream which seems to help but everywhere I read and everyone I ask says that the tip takes the longest time for a swelling to go down. But I think my nose looks pretty normal from the front. It’s definitely not completely healed yet but it’s better than it has been the past few weeks and obviously I won’t know the final results for about a year or six months because that’s when the rest of the swelling after the initial swelling that still hasn’t gone down will go down. So, I’m doing great. Everything is going well.
