Shield Graft Beverly Hills
WARNING: Graphic Surgical Content
A shield graft is a piece of cartilage that is placed over the nasal tip to add refinement or projection. It is called a shield graft because of its shape, though it is often shaped more like a “Y.” The tips of the arms of the Y are used to create the two small reflections of light on the tip of the nose.
The shield graft is cut from pieces of septal or ear cartilage using a special device, which helps to ensure that it is perfectly symmetric.
You can see here how the shield graft can help the tip of the nose project further from the face.
